How to Make Garlic Corn

Garlic corn is a quick, tasty snack or side dish that combines the natural sweetness of corn with the bold flavor of garlic. It’s perfect for evening cravings, gatherings, or even as a light appetizer. Here's a simple recipe to make flavorful garlic corn at home.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sweet corn (boiled or steamed)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or oil)
  • 4–5 garlic cloves (finely chopped or minced)
  • 1–2 green chilies (optional, finely chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Fresh coriander or parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Boil the Corn:

    • If you're using fresh corn on the cob, boil it in water for about 7–10 minutes until soft. Then cut off the kernels.
    • If you're using frozen corn, steam or microwave it according to the package instructions.
  2. Sauté the Garlic:

    • Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
    • Add chopped garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until golden and fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.
  3. Add Corn and Spices:

    • Add the boiled corn to the pan.
    • Toss in green chilies (if using), salt, black pepper, and chili flakes.
    • Mix well and cook for another 2–3 minutes so the corn absorbs the flavors.
  4. Finish and Serve:

    • Turn off the heat and add a dash of lemon juice for freshness.
    • Garnish with chopped coriander or parsley.
    • Serve hot in a bowl or on a plate.

Tips:

  • You can add cheese for a creamy version of garlic corn.
  • Use olive oil instead of butter for a vegan alternative.
  • Add a pinch of chaat masala or peri-peri for an Indian twist.

Enjoy your homemade garlic corn — it's crunchy, savory, and absolutely delicious!
